Call for Accessible Design Panel Members – Woodside Avenue, Eastleigh
Our streets often include barriers that make it harder to move around freely. Poor-quality pavements, uneven surfaces, inadequate drainage and a lack of suitable crossings can all reduce safety and accessibility, discouraging people from walking, wheeling or cycling for short journeys.
Walk Wheel Cycle Trust is looking for local people in Eastleigh to join an Accessible Design Panel to help shape improvements along Woodside Avenue and ensure the route is more accessible and welcoming for everyone.
They are particularly keen to hear from people who:

Have a vision and/or hearing impairment

Have reduced mobility
-
Are neurodivergent
-
Care for someone with a disability
What’s involved
Panel members will bring their lived experience to:

Share insight into the barriers you face when travelling locally
-
Take part in an on-site accessibility audit
-
Review early designs that will directly inform the final scheme
Key information

Time commitment: approximately 4–6 hours

Panel size: 4–6 members
-
Pay: £25 per hour plus travel costs (paid in cash or vouchers)

Online introduction and accessibility discussion: March

In-person site visit and design review: week commencing 16 March 2026 (to be confirmed)
