The latest Second Sight magazine from OpenSight is out now — packed with inspiring stories, practical advice and uplifting moments from across Hampshire’s sight loss community.

In this autumn edition, highlights include:

  • Marion’s story, aged 97, who rediscovered her independence after learning the Steady Eye Technique.

  • “Insights – Living Your Best Life with Sight Loss”, a two-day course that brought people together to share experiences and rebuild confidence.

  • Our expanding technology support and accessible product recommendations — from talking air fryers to the GalaPro app.

  • Details of our Independent Travel Training workshops, helping people across Hampshire gain confidence using local buses.

The edition also celebrates the heart of OpenSight — our volunteers — including Margaret McKenzie, who marked an incredible 60 years of service and received the Jenny Robinson Award for her dedication.

Whether you’re living with sight loss, supporting a loved one, or simply want to stay connected with your local community, this issue has something for everyone.

Together, we’re helping more people with sight loss live confidently, stay connected and thrive.
