Everyone at OpenSight was extremely delighted to receive a visit from HRH The Countess of Wessex on Thursday 17th November 2022 to celebrate the charity’s 100th anniversary, to find out about the variety of services OpenSight provides and celebrate the outstanding achievements of some visually impaired individuals.
The theme for the visit was “This VI community can do anything.”
Together with HM Lord-Lieutenant, The Countess of Wessex was escorted around head office by Chief Executive David Mckeigue and Susan Walker, Trustee.
During her visit she spoke with the dedicated staff ,volunteers and Trustees as well as OpenSight clients of various ages who have received support from OpenSight.
HRH was also able to take part in some of the online activities offered by OpenSight.
At the end of her visit The Countess of Wessex unveiled a plaque to commemorate the charity’s 100th anniversary and presented awards for outstanding achievements to two visually impaired Hampshire residents.
On her departure, Her Royal Highness received the Posy made by The Artisan Floral Studio amongst the other gifts.
