Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) is there to support people while they look for work. You may be eligible to claim Universal Credit at the same time as JSA which you can also find in this document. JSA is there to support you throughout the job seeking process so there will be commitments you have to meet in order to prove you re actively seeking work.
Criteria
To be eligible for job seekers allowance you must meet the following criteria:
- Have previously worked as an employee
- Paid class 1 national insurance
- Be 18 or over
- Be under state pension age
- Be in Great Britain
- Not be working 16 hours a week
How much is it worth?
How much Job Seekers Allowance you are entitled to if eligible is dependent on the age range you belong to.
