Join OpenSight and Portsmouth City Council, for a two-day Workshop on Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th April 2025. This will be the first opportunity since the pandemic, to come together for in person networking, sharing lived experience and gaining practical insights into living with sight loss.
The workshop will be delivered by experts, many of whom have lived experience of sight loss, from a wide range of organisations that provide services and support in the Portsmouth area. Each session is designed to provide both information and opportunities for discussion and interaction. Key topics include mobility and independent living, accessing benefits, the role of the ECLO and how RNIB support, with a focus on online counselling services. Additionally, the workshops will cover library services, sports and leisure opportunities, accessing travel and transport, assistive technology, and confidence building.
The workshop is open to any adult living in Portsmouth (PO1-PO6 postcode) who is newly diagnosed or perhaps struggling to come to terms with their sight loss. Attendees are welcome to bring a family member or companion to support them as they explore valuable information and opportunities.
We are excited to bring the sight loss community together again and look forward to welcoming you.
