Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit

Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit is there to support those who have sustained  disability or illness as a result of an accident or event at work. How much you receive is based off a medical assessment done by a professional. This also covers illnesses or disabilities sustained during employment training as long as you were employed at the time of the event that lead to the condition.

Criteria

You may be eligible if you have a disability or illness as a result of an accident at work or while on employment training. You also must met the following criteria.

  • You were employed when the accident happened or were on approved employment training
  • The work event causing your illness or disability happened in England Scotland or Wales.

How much is it worth?

The amount you get will be based on the level of your disability as assessed by a medical professional on a scale of 1-100%. Note the following amounts are a guide and may differ slightly.

80% £180.24
70% £157.71
60% £135.18
50% £112.65
40% £90.12
30% £67.59
20% £45.06

How to apply

You will need to complete and post a claim form. You can download this form from the website below or request one from the Barnsley Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit Centre at 0800 121 8379.
