Delivery and Returns Policy
Overview
We will make every effort to dispatch orders within 3 working days, however, if you have not received your goods within 10 working days please contact us on 02380 641 244, or e-mail us at [email protected].
We use the Royal Mail’s ‘Articles for the Blind’ scheme which waives the cost of sending large print materials and specialist equipment to blind and visually impaired people. To qualify for free delivery, you must be blind or partially sighted and select ‘I am visually impaired’ in the postage options.
The Articles for the Blind scheme does not offer guarantees of delivery or insurance for valuable items. Therefore, we may have to make delivery charges for some high-value products which need to be sent by special delivery. In these instances, the cost of delivery will be added to your order when you checkout.
When you receive your goods, please check your delivery note and let us know immediately (within 7 working days of receiving the order) about any discrepancies with your order.
Returns
If you change your mind about your purchase, you can return certain products to us within 14 days. There are exceptions to returning some items* so please check carefully before making your purchase.
In Person
If you wish to return an item that you purchased in person from our Resource Centre shop, from one of our community events or during a home visit with a member of OpenSight staff, you will be given a credit note. Please note, we cannot offer a refund unless the product is faulty.
You will need to return the items to us unused, in their original condition and in the original packaging within 14 days of purchase in order to receive a credit note.
Online Orders
Once you have placed your order, it is not possible to change it online. You can contact us on 02380 641 244 to add more products to your order, change your delivery details or cancel your order. However, if your order has already been dispatched, you will need to follow our online returns procedure to return any unwanted items.
You have the right to cancel your order before you have received the goods or within 14 days of receipt. You will need to return the items to us in their original condition and we will refund you within 14 days of receiving the items back from you. There are exceptions to returning some items* so please check the product descriptions carefully before placing your order.
To return an item, please contact us on 02380 641 244 or email [email protected] to request a new one. The products you are returning must be unused, in their original condition and in the original packaging.
We advise that you get proof of postage when you return any products to OpenSight. If your parcel gets lost in the post, you will need to contact the carrier to pursue their claims procedure.
We will notify you by email once we have received your items and if your return is approved, we will issue a refund to your credit/debit card or PayPal account (whichever was used as the original method of payment).
If you are returning a faulty product, please contact us to advise of the fault and let us know if you would like a refund or have a replacement item sent to you.

*Items Not Eligible for Return
For hygiene and safety reasons you cannot return, unless faulty, thermometers, liquid level indicators, non-spill mugs, scales and measuring utensils, non-slip items or earrings.
